MARK MAKES HIS MARK ON UK SONGWRITINGS PREMIER COMPETITION
 
Congratulations to our CEO Mark Sapsford who achieved an amazing set of results in the Annual UK Songwriting Contest. Mark entered 5 songs in this years event, which is renowned internationally and accepts entries from the UK and around the world. Tracks are showcased to the music industry in London where the UK's top award winning producers select entrants to mentor and produce.
 
This is one of the most highly respected and regarded international songwriting events around, established in association with the The BRIT Trust. Two of his songs, 'A Time For Change' and 'Every Little Helps' reached the Semi Final stage of this prestigious competition and his other entries 'The World We All Remember', 'Thoughts Of You' and 'All The Time In The World' were also highly commended by the judges.This reflects what we at Standing Ovation already know, namely that Mark is one of the most talented Lyricists around  - and now that's been recognised - in some style. 
 
A SONG FOR CHARITY RAISES AWARENESS OF MASSACRE IN NIGERIA
 
Mark Sapsford has recently co written a single with the Munich based company C Track Records, to raise awareness and help the victims of an appalling massacre that took place in Dogo Nahawa in Nigeria last month. The massacre occurred as a result of religious attacks in the region and The Times Newspaper reported that up to 500 people were killed, with scores more fleeing the area which lies in the North Eastern part of the country. Thousands are also believed to have been injured. Forty Nine people were recently charged by the Nigerian authorities in connection with the incident. 
 
The song entitled 'Too Late'  is available as a download at all main online retailers and a video has also been produced which can be viewed by clicking here. The song aims to help the injured and suffering and will the funds raised will especially help the many children left without parents as a result of the tragedy.  Please note that there are scenes within it that you may find upsetting.
